West Virginia wanted to secure more talent in the backfield in the 2021 class and the Mountaineers have done just that with a commitment from Perry (Oh.) running back Jaylen Anderson.

Anderson, 6-foot-0, 210-pounds, collected a number of scholarship offers of late with Florida, Nebraska, Michigan State, Duke, Iowa, Louisville, Iowa State, Maryland and Minnesota just a few to join the picture. The Mountaineers had been involved since seeing the talented back workout at camp last summer and things only increased as the process progressed forward.

Running backs coach Chad Scott and inside linebackers coach Jeff Koonz served as the lead recruiters for Anderson and were in regular contact throughout building a strong bridge between the prospect and the school. The allure of playing in the Big 12 Conference with his skill set was another contributing factor.
