Douglas is a Mountaineer

West Virginia had been involved with Garden City (N.Y.) Nassau C.C. cornerback Rasul Douglas since early in the process and that persistency paid off in a big way with the junior college prospect committing to the Mountaineers Wednesday.
Douglas, 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, is a physical cornerback with the size to matchup with bigger wide receiver, while possessing the speed to cover down the field. The Rivals.com three-star selected West Virginia over fellow finalists Louisville and Rutgers after taking visits to all three programs.

"WVU here I come," he tweeted.
Collecting scholarship offers from his three finalists, along with programs such as Tennessee, Florida State, Illinois, Georgia, UCF and several others, Douglas was a highly sought after prospect at the junior college level over the course of the process.
Douglas visited Morgantown for the TCU game during the weekend of Oct. 31 and was impressed with the visit and also built a strong bond with his lead recruiter cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell. The Mountaineers assistant also visited Douglas during the contact period, with head coach Dana Holgorsen accompanying him last week for a final push.
The defensive back visited Louisville during the Nov. 28 weekend and traveled to the weekend of Rutgers Dec. 12 before taking a few days to make his selection.
Douglas is set to graduate from Nassau C.C. at the end of December and is expected to enroll at West Virginia in January with two years of eligibility remaining.
Overall, Douglas is the fourth commitment at the cornerback position for the Mountaineers and the 24th pledge overall in the class of 2015.
WVSports.com will have more on the commitment of Douglas.
