Examining the recruitments of the remaining WVU summer official visitors

West Virginia hosted 41 official visitors over the summer but with many of them already declaring their college intentions. The Mountaineers hosted three separate weekends of prospects over the summer and with several of those visitors remaining on the board WVSports.com takes a look at the latest with each of them.

Commitment date: July 4

Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch 2025 wide receiver Samari Reed is one of the highest rated targets still on the board from the group of official visitors this summer. Reed has taken official visits to Clemson, West Virginia, Kentucky and Penn State and those schools along with Mississippi make up his final list. Reed has a close connection with wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall but has kept his recruitment close to the vest.

Commitment date: July 5

Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh 2025 defensive end Elijah Crawford has been down to a top three of West Virginia, Rutgers and Syracuse since May 31. The Maryland defensive end took official visits to each of those programs during the summer and is expected to make a college decision the day after Independence Day. Crawford has taken multiple visits to Morgantown and has a close connection with the coaching staff, but at the same can be said for each of his group of final schools.

Commitment date: July 8

Cincinnati (Oh.) Winton Woods 2025 athlete Seaonta Stewart has cut down his list of schools to West Virginia, Purdue and Indiana after taking official visits to all three of those. Stewart is a versatile safety that could fit at several different positions and is a prospect that has strong ties to each of those schools.

Commitment date: Early July

West Chester (Oh.) Lakota West 2025 linebacker Grant Beerman took a series of official visits this summer to Cincinnati, Purdue, Michigan State and West Virginia and those four make up his final grouping of schools. Beerman came into the West Virginia visit not knowing what to expect despite making several trips and left thoroughly impressed with everything he was able to see while on campus. Beerman is being recruited by inside linebackers coach Jeff Koonz and would be a fit at linebacker.

Commitment date: Late July

White was busy this summer taking official visits to UCF, West Virginia, Syracuse, N.C. State and Louisville. The talented linebacker had previously been to Morgantown during the spring and would be a fit for the Mountaineers due to his athleticism and skill set. Offensive coordinator Chad Scott was the first coach to offer White and he has built a strong connection with inside linebackers coach Jeff Koonz but hasn't tipped his hand.

Commitment date: Unknown

Columbus (Oh.) Marion Franklin 2025 cornerback Dawayne Galloway took official visits to West Virginia, Purdue, Syracuse and Kentucky but has kept his recruitment relatively close to the vest. The highly rated cornerback target could make a decision in the coming weeks but has not announced a date. West Virginia was able to get him on campus not just once but twice for an unofficial, although Kentucky is believed to be trending in his recruitment by many different sources.

Commitment date: Unknown

Bronx (N.Y.) Cardinal Hayes 2025 offensive lineman Jayden Mann took official visits to Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Rutgers and finally West Virginia on the final weekend before the dead period. Mann has kept his recruitment closely guarded but is expected to make his college decision at some point over the next few weeks. He is an offensive tackle body type on the Mountaineers board that could fill the need there.

Commitment date: Unknown

Columbia (S.C.) Hammond School 2025 tight end Mike Tyler took an official visit to West Virginia the first weekend of June and then made other stops at N.C. State and LSU as well as other potential trips. Tyler is a talented tight end option that could see his recruitment stretch into the fall but West Virginia was able to get him on campus. Tight ends coach Blaine Stewart is the lead recruiter and has a strong bond.

Commitment date: Unknown

Cleveland Heights (Oh.) 2025 defensive lineman Brandon Caesar took an official visit to West Virginia during the first weekend of June but since that point things have been quiet on the talented pass rusher. Caesar has kept a low profile throughout the course of his recruitment and I don't expect that to suddenly change now. There is no timetable for when a possible decision could come for the Ohio native.
