JUCO linebacker Benton commits to WVU

West Virginia added an important piece to their 2018 class today with the commitment of JUCO linebacker Charlie Benton.

Benton, 6-foot-3, 215-pounds is in his last season at Butler Community College in Kansas

West Virginia is targeting Benton as either a linebacker or potentially the SPUR safety spot and the versatility of it all is something that interests both parties.

“The defense they run is a perfect defense for my size and height. I could be an outside linebacker or move to the SPUR position,” Benton previous told WVSports.com

Benton will have three years left to play three and is expected to enroll at the school he selects when he graduates in December.

While he redshirted last season, Benton had two teammates sign with the Mountaineers in the last cycle in Fontez Davis and David Isreal.
