Legacy WR commit Wheaton: "West Virginia was the place"
Holly Springs (N.C.) wide receiver Bryce Wheaton had grown up watching the West Virginia football program and now he will have the chance to play for the Mountaineers after committing.
Wheaton, 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, had narrowed his list of schools to West Virginia, Louisville, Missouri and East Carolina but the Mountaineers were always considered the front runner.
In large part because of his strong ties to the program with his grandfather, Garrett Ford, Sr., and uncle, Garrett Ford, Jr., both playing football for the program while his parents attended school in Morgantown.
