The commitment marks fifth player from the state of Florida to verbally agree to attend WVU.
"They have a big movement going on in south Florida, I really like that they're getting a lot of people from down here," said Redwine.
Mountaineer running backs coach JaJuan Seider is spearheading that movement to recruit in the Sunshine State. He also served as the lead recruiter on Redwine.
"He just told me a lot of stuff," said Redwine, "He explained to me what position they could use me at and how I could fit in to their system. He made it known that they really wanted me."
Another reason Redwine felt comfortable enough to pledge with WVU was because of the family atmosphere.
"The coaches just made it feel like they really wanted me here," he said.
Redwine, at six-foot-two, 190 pounds has a plan to come play cornerback for WVU. At Killian High School, Redwine stars on the defensive side of the football. He plans to continue that trend at West Virginia.
He says that having to play corner in the tough Big 12 Conference was one that stuck out to him.
The decision for Redwine to commit to WVU, wasn't a tough one. He grew up following West Virginia.
"Something about them just stuck out to me when I was a kid, I used to watch them play. I used to play with them all the time on the NCAA video game. I loved using Pat White and Steve Slaton," said Redwine. "So when this opportunity presented itself, I just ran with it."
