The West Virginia Mountaineers football program has added a commitment from Wyndmoor (Pa.) La Salle College High School 2025 spear Chris Fileppo.
Fileppo, 6-foot-3, 210-pounds, flipped his pledge to the Mountaineers from James Madison. He also held scholarship offers from Purdue, South Florida, Connecticut, Villanova, Monmouth and others.
The versatile athlete took an official visit to West Virginia over the June 21-23 weekend after previously committing to James Madison in April. That was just a few days after the Dukes initially offered.
However, that visit to Morgantown was enough to close his recruitment giving the program a versatile defensive piece that could play multiple positions in the scheme.
The Mountaineers are slotting Fileppo as a spear in the scheme and brings the type of skill set that makes him an intriguing fit.
The Mountaineers efforts were led by secondary coach ShaDon Brown who was the one that extended a scholarship offer to Fileppo May 21 and remained in contact throughout.
Overall, Fileppo is the 18th commitment for West Virginia in the 2025 cycle.
WVSports.com will have more with Fileppo in the near future.
