West Virginia has at least one opening on the schedule and could that mean that the program could take advantage of a new waiver to open the season earlier than expected?
The blanket waiver allows for all college football teams to begin their season Aug. 29, if they choose to do so. That period is typically known as week 0, which is limited and protected, but the decision was made to provide additional flexibility for college football programs due to the impact of COVID-19.
