What are the chances that a current starter or two departs and creates serious unexpected problems? We certainly did not expect to lose Mesidor and that kind of a loss is still possible. Do we still pursue a CB, S, WR and Lineman with our last 4 scholarships?

It’s impossible to know whether a player is going to leave sometimes because quite truthfully the coaches can’t see some of them coming. Players only have to inform compliance departments that they intend to transfer and their names are placed within the transfer portal within 48-hours. There doesn’t have to be any sit-down meetings with coaches or anything like they used to so some of it is completely out of left field like the Akheem Mesidor situation as you mentioned.
