2025 DL Chinwike looking into West Virginia visit

Virginia Beach (Va.) Green Run 2025 defensive lineman Zeke Chinwike had been in contact with West Virginia for several months but received a surprise from the coaching staff.

Chinwike, 6-foot-6, 241-pounds, got word that the Mountaineers were jumping into the mix with a scholarship offer after the caches stopped into his school in May.

“I was really happy and very excited because West Virginia is one of the schools I want to go to,” he said.

The coaching staff’s message is that Chinwike needs to make it to campus for an unofficial visit as well as camp so that they can see him perform in person. And he plans to take them up on that in order to see if what he has heard about the program matches to what he sees when he visits.

“I know that they have a really good connection with each other, and the vibe is amazing,” he said.

Teams are targeting Chinwike as a defensive end and like the fact that he brings good size and length as well as his overall skill set.

“They love my tape,” he said.

To date Chinwike has visited Maryland, Virginia, Old Dominion, James Madison, East Carolina and several other programs but he plans to make it to many more including seeing Morgantown.

There’s no timetable for a decision right now but Chinwike plans to base his choice around where he fits in with the team culture and the brotherhood around the program.

“How the coaches and players have connections and good spirits,” he said.
