Olney (Md.) Good Counsel 2025 offensive lineman Gavin Crawford has been to West Virginia several times and the program has made a positive early impression.

Crawford, 6-foot-4, 300-pounds, most recently visited for the Mountaineers junior day event in January and it provided another chance to spend time with the coaching staff.

“I was able to have a couple great conversations with Coach (Neal) Brown and Coach (Matt) Moore. They were giving me more insight on how I fit into the program and we were able to just keep talking and building our relationship,” he said.

That connection that Crawford has forged with the coaches is what has impressed him the most about the Mountaineers at this stage of the process on top of the support from the fan base.

Both Brown, Moore and secondary coach ShaDon Brown are the lead recruiters for Crawford and over time he has gotten to know each of them well.

“I love West Virginia, the atmosphere and the coaching staff,” he said.

The Rivals.com three-star prospect has yet to visit any other schools this winter but plans to make it to Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Pittsburgh.

Schools are targeting Crawford as either a center or guard at the next level with college coaches liking his physicality, twitch and overall effort.

The plan is for him to eventually pick the school that offers the best combination of atmosphere and a coaching staff that will support him.

There isn’t any timetable for a decision, but he plans to commit at some point after he is able to see many of the programs on his list.
