Niceville (Fla.) 2026 athlete Rymar Tripeaux was already having a good day that got even better when he received the news that West Virginia was jumping into the mix with an offer.
Tripeaux, 6-foot-2, 178-pounds, found out after speaking with safeties coach Gabe Franklin and wide receivers coach Ryan Garrett.
“I was excited. It made my day. Coach Franklin called me and we had a great conversation and he told me I earned it. It was turnt and I know they play great football up there,” he said.
The coaching staff informed Tripeaux that he was impressed with not only his length but his toughness and his ability to play multiple positions. Most of the programs are targeting Tripeaux as a safety, given his size and the skill set he brings to the table.
“I have cover skills being that I have experience on the island as a corner and I have great size and I’m going to get bigger,” he said.
The plan is to make it to Morgantown to see the school soon and he’s coordinating a date with Franklin as to what would work for both parties.
Tripeaux is looking to eventually find a program where he can develop and find the right fit that he is looking for in terms of educational opportunities.
