McDonough (Ga.) Dutchtown 2026 defensive lineman Ayden Cain is just starting the process of building a relationship with West Virginia but plans to visit campus later this month.

Cain, 6-foot-2, 260-pounds, just started talking with defensive line coach AJ Jackson and graduate assistant Jaysen Thompson in June but the program has piqued his interest.

And he plans to repay that interest by traveling to Morgantown when the dead period ends on July 25.

“They have been encouraging me to come to campus and see them face to face,” he said.

The Rivals.com three-star prospect admitted that his recruitment with the Mountaineers is just in the initial stages but is excited to find out more about the school when he makes the trek north.

This would be his first time visiting Morgantown and meeting with the staff in person.

“I’ll be looking at the program’s organizational structure and coaching styles,” he said. “I’m interested in seeing the campus and the facilities.”

Cain is being recruited as a defensive lineman and schools have been impressed with his combination of technique, torque and quickness. He is coming off a season where he recorded 53 tackles, 4 sacks and 6 tackles for loss for his high school.

That visit to West Virginia will be one the final visits for Cain this summer but he also plans to take a trip to Duke for their Elite 26 Day event July 26.
