Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military School 2026 defensive lineman Kameron Cody is getting used to surprises when it comes to his recruitment and his offer from West Virginia is one of the latest.

Cody, 6-foot-3, 285-pounds, was working out at his school during the evaluation period and hadn’t been in contact with the program outside receiving some mail about camp dates.

But outside linebackers coach Victor Cabral saw enough to extend a scholarship offer to him.

“West Virginia is a good school to me,” he said. “Coach Cabral said he liked how I was moving and gave me the offer and told me to keep working.”

The Rivals.com three-star prospect doesn’t know too much about the Mountaineers but is still learning about the school along with his cousin Herbert Scroggins who the program also has offered but he has since committed to Miami.

“I think West Virginia has a great football program,” he said.

Cody plans to take a visit to Morgantown at some point although he has yet to set a date. All of the schools are recruiting him along the defensive line and are impressed with his athleticism and ability to move.

“With me being 290-pounds,” he said.

For now, Cody plans to visit Minnesota and Southern California unofficially and also is looking into a trip to Central Florida along with a possible stop at West Virginia.

Cody wants to find a program that is connected all around and where he will be able to fit in with both the coaching staff and the players currently on the roster much like his current school.

“I would love to have that going to the next level,” he said.
