Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh 2026 linebacker Nick Abrams didn’t know a lot about West Virginia prior to receiving a scholarship offer but now has an incentive to learn more about the program.
Abrams, 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, received a scholarship offer after speaking with senior defensive analyst Andrew Warwick after he followed him on social media.
The assistant made it clear that the Mountaineers were impressed by his overall skill set and believed he would be a good fit at linebacker.
This past season Abrams had 80 tackles, 7 sacks, and an interception. The previous coaching staff had spoken with him but had yet to offer.
“He loved my versatility, my speed and the way I’m a playmaker. He said I’m a game wrecker and would be a perfect fit for what they are building,” he said.
The Rivals.com four-star prospect has yet to visit Morgantown but is now looking into doing so in order to learn more about the West Virginia football program has to offer.
“I’m excited to learn more about the school,” he said.
Abrams has visits set to Texas A&M and Penn State but is interested in setting up a trip to West Virginia.
Abrams is looking for a program that is going to help him develop on the field with the goal of making it to the next level, but also a place that will set him up in life.
“Also a family atmosphere is important to me,” he said.
