Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley 2026 offensive lineman Brendan Alexander already held an offer from West Virginia prior to the coaching change but now he knows exactly where he stands after it.
Alexander, 6-foot-4, 270-pounds, spoke with inside wide receivers coach Blaine Stewart who reaffirmed the scholarship offer and told him he’s still a key priority for the program.
“It felt great to know they’re still interested in me and believe in what I bring to the table,” he said. “West Virginia has a great program so it’s definitely exciting to have that opportunity again.”
The message from Stewart was centered around how he can fit into the system as well as how his skill set can help the football program. And he didn’t hold back on how he felt he could impact the program.
“And how much they value what I can do on the field,” he said.
The West Virginia coaching staff is impressed with the overall versatility of the Rivals.com three-star prospect as well as how he can impact the game on both sides of the ball.
“They see me playing guard and contributing to the team’s success with my athleticism,” he said.
Alexander is considering a visit to West Virginia is order to get a look at everything for himself and at this point wants a chance to meet with the staff and get a feel for the environment.
On top of West Virginia, he is looking to take trips to Penn State, Pittsburgh, Stanford, and Duke.
“I want to make the best decision for my future so I’m keeping my options open,” he said.
