Freeland (Mi.) 2026 offensive tackle Tristan Comer wanted to find out more about the West Virginia football program on his official visit. Mission accomplished.
Comer, 6-foot-6, 262-pounds, was impressed with the presentation of the program during his time on campus both with the resources and equipment available to student athletes.
But the highlight of the trip was simply getting to spend more time with the coaching staff, led by lead recruiter Jack Bicknell.
He also spent time with assistant offensive line coach Derek Dressler, assistant offensive line coach Treylen Brown, and senior offensive assistant Travis Trickett.
“It’s a great group of people who are fun to be around,” he said.
The veteran assistant coach informed Comer that he would be a great fit for what the coaching staff wants to do on the offensive side of the ball at the offensive tackle position.
“I would be used for my athleticism and they think I’d fit great with the tempo, no-huddle offense,” he said. “I think their plan is great.”
Comer believes that the experience is one that certainly helps West Virginia, as he evaluates all of his options on the recruiting trail and it answers many of his questions.
“I was interested to learn more about West Virginia academics and they proved they can deliver through football and academics,” he said.
Comer now plans to visit Cincinnati and hopes to have his recruitment wrapped up by the end of June.
