Charleston (W.Va.) Capital 2027 running back David Robinson earned a scholarship offer from Marshall earlier this week and followed that up by camping at West Virginia.
Robinson, 5-foot-9, 185-pounds, enjoyed the experience in Morgantown as he was able to get a look at the school and spend time with the coaching staff in a camp setting.
“I think the trip was pretty cool and what stood out to me the most was how the coaches treated everyone the same,” he said.
Robinson spent time with running backs coach Larry Porter and he told him that he likes how he plays both sides of the ball, while head coach Rich Rodriguez was impressed with his skill set as well.
“They like my size and ability to make plays,” he said.
Robinson hopes to remain in contact with the West Virginia coaches moving forward in order to build a relationship with them because he was highly impressed with their coaching as well as what the Mountaineers football program had to offer from a facilities standpoint.
Robinson plans to make it back to West Virginia for another visit but also has a busy visit schedule for the rest of the summer which includes Maryland, Eastern Michigan, Miami (Oh.), Kent State, Yale and Mercyhurst. But the Mountaineers definitely made a good impression.
“I definitely will come back for another visit up at WVU,” he said.
