Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity 2028 defensive lineman Dawson Jacobs has already gotten a head start on the recruiting process watching as his brother goes through it.

Now, Jacobs has his own scholarship offer after West Virginia jumped into the mix.

Jacobs, 6-foot-3, 240-pounds, found out about the news while sitting around the dinner table and naturally, it was an exciting development considering that the first was from a Power Four program.

“My reaction to the offer was just feeling chills,” he said.

Jacobs, who is the younger brother of 2027 four-star defensive lineman David Jacobs, is still figuring out more about the Mountaineers football program but is excited to continue to see how things develop and start the process of building a relationship with the coaches.

A versatile defensive lineman, Jacobs is slated to eventually play either nose guard or tackle as he continues to develop and college coaches have been impressed with a variety of the things he can do on the field even at his young age.

“They like how I come off the ball,” he said.

Jacobs has already made visits to several schools such as Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee with his brother but is excited to check out several other schools as things progress. West Virginia is one of those schools that could eventually receive a trip depending on how his recruitment develops.

Jacobs wants to eventually find a school that is going to develop him on and off the field but given the fact he is so early in the process he isn’t focused too much on his recruitment at this stage.

“What’s really important to me is a coach that will hold me accountable,” he said.
