With much of the class of 2017 set to make their way to Morgantown in May or early June, WVSports.com catches up with the class to perform an exit interview with the recruiting process and get to know each of the prospects a little better on a personal level. Today, we speak with Deerfield Beach (Fla.) defensive lineman Lamonte McDougle.

McDougle, 6-foot-1, 295-pounds, originally committed to Washington State during the summer but backed off that pledge and immediately West Virginia was at the top. It took until the final weekend before signing day but McDougle made his long awaited visit to West Virginia and gave the Mountaineers his commitment a few days later.

Favorite memory of coach Holgorsen?

LM: The first time I met him, he hit it off with my dad. They have a lot of mutual friends and they were talking about different types of offense and stuff. My mom liked him so that was important to me too.

What surprised you the most on your first visit to West Virginia?

LM: The fans that surprised me. People already knew who I was when I went up there and the love the fan base showed me from the moment I came on campus stood out.

What are your interests?

LM: I’m pretty good at video games. I don’t play as much as I’d like to but I’m pretty good.

Hidden talents?

LM: I can dance.

Favorite movie and music group?

LM: My favorite movie is probably Nacho Libre, the Jack Black movie.
