The West Virginia Mountaineers football program has landed a commitment from Fresno (Ca.) Fresno City C.C. 2026 defensive back Jaylon Jones.

Jones, 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, committed to the football program after an official visit to Morgantown where he was able to get a complete look at the Mountaineers.

The junior college prospect spent last season with Fresno City where he recorded five interceptions and displayed strong cover skills for the

Safeties coach Gabe Franklin visited Jones during the evaluation period and things picked up from there leading to his official visit to campus over the weekend.

Jones has three years of eligibility remaining in his career and could end up at multiple safety spots as well as potentially other defensive back positions.

Jones is the first junior college commitment for West Virginia in the 2026 recruiting class.

WVSports.com will have more with Jones in the near future.
