It’s the most famous, if only, mascot tackle in West Virginia football history.
Clemson was marching toward the goal line to reclaim the lead over the Mountaineers in the 2012 Orange Bowl when Andre Ellington received a handoff. The initial push from the Tigers line was good opening a hole off the right side as Ellington drove towards crossing the plane on the first down carry.
That resulted in several Clemson players prematurely celebrating potential a touchdown.
It wasn’t to be.
