Macon commits to Mountaineers again
Huntington Prep (W.Va.) power forward
Elijah Macon's recruitment came full circle Friday night when he pledged to the Mountaineers for the second time on an official visit.
Macon, 6-foot-9, 230-pound, power forward originally committed to the Mountaineers in June of 2009, before he decided to open up his recruiting in mid-March in 2010.
But early into his official visit to Morgantown this weekend, Macon, a Rivals.com four-star recruit, saw all he needed to see to end his recruitment for good.
"It's just the perfect place for me. They have everything I need plus a hall of fame coach that will make me a better player," Macon said via text message.
A native of Columbus, Oh., Macon moved to Huntington Prep to improve both his academics and his on the court play.
Macon had offers from Tennessee, USC, Pittsburgh, Maryland and Kansas State, among others and had narrowed his choices down to West Virginia and the Panthers.
Macon appears to be on track to qualify, and is currently ranked as the nation's #57 ranked player by Rivals.com in the class of 2012.
WVSports.com will have more with Macon including a full-interview once he returns home from campus.
