Martin on board

West Virginia picked up its 24th commitment of the 2015 cycle after Greenacres (Fla.) Dwyer wide receiver Tavares Martin selected the Mountaineers following a weekend official visit.
Martin, 6-foot-1, 156-pounds, had offers from Alabama, Florida State, Louisville, Kentucky and several others but in recent weeks West Virginia had emerged to the front of the pack.

"Yes. The visit went great, I loved every minute of it," he said.
The Mountaineers recruiting efforts were led by wide receiver coach Lonnie Galloway and running backs coach JaJuan Seider and the two coaches had stayed in the most consistent contact with the senior wide receiver.
The visit was the first for Martin and the talented prospect saw enough to end his recruitment after getting an extensive look at the campus and being able to sit down with the coaching staff.
A Rivals.com three-star prospect, Martin hopes to enroll in January at West Virginia to start his college career and becomes the third wide receiver overall to commit to the Mountaineers following fellow Florida prospects Miramar (Fla.) teammates Jovon Durante and Kahlil Lewis.
Martin has the ability to line up at outside or inside wide receiver for West Virginia and is a dynamic playmaker that shows great ability to catch the ball with his hands at the highest point. Also a plus punt returner, Martin also could get a look at that position once he arrives on campus.
Overall, Martin is the 11th prospect to commit to West Virginia from the state of Florida and the 24th overall in the class of 2015.
WVSports.com will have more on this commitment including a full interview with Martin along with a breakdown of what it means for the Mountaineers.
