The West Virginia Mountaineers football program has filled another need with a commitment from North Carolina transfer wide receiver Christian Hamilton.
Hamilton, 6-foot-0, 190-pounds, spent two seasons with the Tar Heels where he was an early enrollee out of the 2023 recruiting class and a former four-star prospect.
The news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports through his agent David Ben-Zaken.
In his first season with the program, Hamilton hauled in three catches for 20 yards across three games and that production increased to seven catches for 159 yards and a touchdown across eight games as a sophomore. He appeared in 248 snaps across those two seasons.
Hamilton entered the transfer portal April 16 and quickly made a visit to Morgantown April 18-19 in order to see what the Big 12 Conference program had to offer.
That was enough to secure his commitment.
Hamilton was a productive high school option at Hickory Ridge in Harrisburg, N.C. where he hauled in 133 receptions for 2,505 yards and 27 touchdowns over his four-year career.
Hamilton has three seasons of eligibility remaining in his college career.
Hamilton becomes the latest transfer portal addition in the wide receiver room along with Jacksonville State transfer Cam Vaughn, Eastern Michigan transfer Oran Singleton, Jacksonville State transfer Jarod Bowie, Idaho State transfer Jeff Weimer and Youngstown State transfer Cyrus Traugh.
He is the first addition at the position during the spring transfer portal window.
