UT Chattanooga safety Jordan Walker has a pair of visits set in the coming days including one to West Virginia.
Walker, 6-foot-0, 188-pounds, spent five years with the Mocs but wanted a different experience for his final season of eligibility so he entered the transfer portal.
That led to West Virginia extending a scholarship offer after he recorded 60 tackles, 7 pass breakups, and 4 tackles for loss this past season.
“Things have been going great with us,” he said.
Walker is set to visit Morgantown on Jan. 2 and has been getting to know Tolbert Nance, along with several other staff members in order to build a connection. The official visit is going to give Walker a chance to be around the new coaching staff and see what their vision is for the future.
“And see how I can come in and help contribute to that. Also excited to sit down with the new defensive coordinator and see his scheme and how I could fit into it,” he said.
West Virginia is targeting Walker at the safety position and the coaching staff has been impressed with his ability to play fast in space.
After the trip to Morgantown, Walker has another visit set to Memphis on Jan. 4 and plans to pick a school that’s going to allow him to fit into the scheme as well as put him in position to make plays.
“I am also looking to be a part of a great culture,” he said.
