West Virginia was searching for more help on the defensive line and the coaching staff has found that with a commitment from Troy transfer T.J. Jackson.
Jackson, 6-foot-2, 280-pounds, entered the transfer portal Dec. 28 and the Mountaineers were one of the first programs to extend a scholarship offer. Others such as Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Houston and Jacksonville State would follow suit, but West Virginia would get him to campus first.
The senior defensive lineman would take his first official visit to Morgantown Jan. 4 and that trip would prove to be enough for him to close up his recruitment and commit to the Mountaineers.
