Tacoma (Wa.) Wilson wing Emmitt Matthews was actually getting Chinese food with his mother when he received word that West Virginia was offering him a scholarship.

“She was super shocked. She was telling everybody,” he said.

For Matthews it’s becoming somewhat second nature because the West Coast wing has been getting used to East Coast surprises of late.
