Princeton (W.Va.) 2024 athlete Dominick Collins has camped at West Virginia twice this summer and certainly caught the attention of the coaching staff with his speed.

Collins, 5-foot-10, 163-pounds, was timed in the 4.2 to 4.3 range of the 40-yard dash during the two events and that’s enough to catch some eyeballs.

“The feedback was very good and they’re very interested now,” he said.

Collins worked out at wide receiver with position coach Bilal Marshall and was able to again spend time learning from the assistant during the camp. The first time this summer it was more of an introduction but this was a chance for him to work on his craft.

The in-state prospect also was able to sit down and speak with head coach Neal Brown where he was able to get an idea of how he fits into the picture with the program.

“He said seeing my speed at different positions helped a lot,” he said.

The Mountaineers are targeting Collins at that position but also like what he can do in other areas such as running back, as a return specialist and even on other areas of special teams.

Collins is coming off a season where he finished with 1,036 yards and 19 touchdowns receiving and a total of 1,637 all-purpose yards and 23 total touchdowns.

“They want to put me everywhere to confuse the defense and keep them guessing with my speed,” the rising senior said.

On top of visiting West Virginia on two separate occasions this summer, Collins also stopped at Marshall, Virginia Tech, James Madison and Shepherd. There is no timetable for a decision but he is excited about what he could show during his time on campus and what the next steps could be.

“My recruitment is going pretty good,” he said.
