The West Virginia Mountaineers have added some help on the defensive front with a commitment from Moody (Ala.) 2026 defensive lineman Cameron Mallory.
Mallory, 6-foot-2, 280-pounds, picked the Mountaineers over offers from Missouri, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and a number of others.
The Mountaineers extended a scholarship offer to Mallory in February and things only further built from there with him coming to campus for an official visit over the weekend. That was enough to secure a commitment from the Rivals.com three-star prospect.
Defensive line coach William Green served as the lead recruiter for Mallory and actually recruited him when he was at Jacksonville State.
“He told me he liked my quickness and power,” he said.
West Virginia is recruiting Mallory everywhere from a defensive tackle to a three technique and he recorded 96 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
Mallory is the tenth commitment for West Virginia in the 2026 class and is the first pledge for the Mountaineers along the defensive line in the cycle.
WVSports.com will have more with Mallory in the near future.
