Frisco (Tx.) 2026 tight end Parker Ord is still feeling out the West Virginia football program.

But the interest between the two has certainly picked up since the Mountaineers jumped into the mix with a scholarship offer earlier this month.

“I feel very blessed about the West Virginia offer,” he said.

Tight ends coach Michael Nysewander was the coach who initiated the contact between the two over the phone and they were able to get to know one another.

The assistant made it clear that West Virginia valued not only his ability as a blocker but how he can also be effective as a route runner at the tight end spot.

“He says I would be a great fit for their offense,” he said.

Ord is being targeted as a versatile tight end by all of the schools on his radar and he is coming off a junior season where he hauled in 30 passes for 500 yards and 6 scores.

The Lonestar State product also holds offers from Oklahoma State, BYU, Arizona and a number of other programs but is still determining if the Mountaineers will end up receiving a visit.

“The only visits planned right now are OSU and BYU,” he said.

Ord is taking his time with the process, but academics will be important to him and a school that offers a good opportunity in business will be key. He also wants to feel as if he’s a priority.

“If they truly want me to play for them and be a star,” he said.
