Allen has committed to West Virginia.

West Virginia added a fourth commitment to the class of 2017 Monday evening when Omaha (Ne.) Boys Town guard Teddy Allen selected the Mountaineers.

Allen, 6-foot-6, 222-pounds, visited West Virginia over the weekend officially and saw enough to end his recruitment and commit to the Mountaineers.

He was impressed with his time on campus and the message from the coaches as well as how he could fit into the program.

The versatile guard was recruited by assistant coach Larry Harrison and had previously narrowed his choices to a final five of West Virginia, Iowa State, Cincinnati, DePaul and Omaha before taking a visit to Morgantown over the weekend.

A big-bodied guard that can fill several roles, Allen displays the ability to take the ball to the rim and range to hit shots from the perimeter. Last season he averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds per game for his high school team.

Allen becomes the fourth commitment in the 2017 class behind Warren (Oh.) Harding center Derrek Culver, Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy guard Brandon Knapper and Navarro J.C. (Tx.) forward D’Angelo Hunter.

WVSports.com will have more with Allen.
