Mountaineers in the Pros: Former players making a mark in the NFL

Every offseason, West Virginia football puts former Mountaineers into the professional ranks, where these players go to show their skills on the largest stage of football, the National Football League.

This is a comprehensive list of every former West Virginia player making an impact in the NFL, which will be updated every week as games are played. Now that Week Seven of the NFL regular season has passed, here's every former Mountaineer who's active on an NFL roster, with some players growing into solid starters and others who are becoming stars.

-- QB Geno Smith- Seattle Seahawks

Smith faced off against Seattle's divisional rival, the Arizona Cardinals, on Sunday and led the Seahawks to a solid 20-10 win at home. It's been a topsy-turvy season for the former WVU quarterback and on Sunday he finished 18-for-24 passing, with 219 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Smith also ran six times for 10 yards.

-- LB Kyzir White & DL Dante Stills - Arizona Cardinals

In the aforementioned loss to the Seahawks, White and Stills started and played the majority of the game for Arizona, but was unable to keep Seattle off the board in the 20-10 loss. White finished fifth on the team in tackles with five total and three solo, but also recorded two tackles for loss and a pass deflection. Stills finished the contest with two tackles as well.

-- LB David Long Jr. - Miami Dolphins

Long made his impact felt early on the big stage, where he stepped up on Sunday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles before a small injury derailed his night. Long did return and despite the 31-17 loss to the Eagles, Long finished with four total tackles, two solo stops and a pass deflection.

-- LB Tony Fields II - Cleveland Browns

Fields definitely had the biggest performance amongst former Mountaineer defenders as he put points on the board in Cleveland's thrilling 39-38 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Along with six total tackles and two solo stops, Fields recovered a fumble in the endzone for six in the win, the second defensive touchdown of his career.

-- CB Rasul Douglas - Green Bay Packers

The Packers fell to the Denver Broncos 19-17 on Sunday but Douglas was all over the field in coverage and played an impressive game outside of the stat sheet. Douglas finished with five total tackles ranking him fifth on the team, with three solo tackles and a tackle for loss for Green Bay.

-- OG Mark Glowinski - New York Giants

After earning back the starting role at left guard, Glowinski and the Giants bounced back from the primetime loss to defeat the Washington Commanders in a low scoring 14-7 victory on Sunday. Despite a lack of points on the board, the former WVU offensive lineman led New York to out gain Washington, 356 yards to 273.

Players who are rostered but did not appear or record a statistic in Week Five:

-- OT Colton McKivitz - San Francisco 49ers - McKivitz and the 49ers are set to face off against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m.
