Barboursville (W.Va.) Cabell Midland 2024 linebacker Curtis Jones is staying home after committing to West Virginia.
Jones, 6-foot-1, 204-pounds, selected the Big 12 Conference program after receiving a scholarship offer earlier this summer following an impressive camp stop.
The Mountaineers became the first power five offer for Jones and joined a list of schools that also included Marshall, Toledo and Eastern Kentucky. The in-state native caught the attention of the coaches after impressing as both a linebacker and a pass rusher during the course of the event.
Inside linebackers coach Jeff Koonz is the lead recruiter for Jones and the two have developed a solid connection throughout the course of the recruiting process.
Overall, Jones is the 19th commitment for West Virginia in the 2024 class and the second from the state to select the Mountaineers.
WVSports.com will have more with Jones in the near future.
