Edwardsville (Ill.) running back Justin Johnson became the second four-star prospect at his position to commit to West Virginia after offering his pledge on his birthday.

Johnson, 5-foot-11, 198-pounds, previously narrowed down his choices to a final six that included West Virginia, California, Michigan State, Louisville, Minnesota and Washington State but ultimately decided on the Mountaineers due to his comfort level with the school and the coaches.

The No. 248th best prospect nationally, Johnson made a pair of visits to Morgantown prior to the start of the dead period where he was able to get an in-depth look at the program. He made his first visit in late January and then again in early March with one of his parents accompanying him on each trip.
