West Virginia won its eleventh game in a row Saturday toppling Fordham 86-69 inside the Coliseum.

Senior Daxter Miles led West Virginia in scoring with 21, while sophomore Lamont West returned from an ankle injury to add 15-points.

The Mountaineers started 1-5 from the field falling behind 4-3 in the first two minutes, before a Miles basket gave the home-standing team the lead. However, West Virginia wouldn’t trail long as the program would seize a 12-7 lead scoring on five of six trips down the floor.

Fordham would continue to hang around in the first half trailing 19-16 at the 11-minute mark of the first half as both teams would use runs to keep things tight.

The lead would grow to 30-21 with 5:36 left in the first half as the Mountaineers hit 50-percent from the field and turned 9 turnovers into 15-points. The lead would swell to as many as 16-points, but Fordham would battle back to cut the lead to 40-30.

Fordham would use a 9-2 run down the stretch to cut the advantage to 46-39 at the break. West led all scorers on the Mountaineers at the half with nine points.

West Virginia's lead would sit at 56-44 at the 12:56 mark of the second half as the Mountaineers were able to keep Fordham at a distance.

Fordham wouldn't fold, keeping the score at only a seven point lead when Carter had to go to the bench with four fouls before a three by Miles extended the advantage back to double digits with under ten minutes left in the game.

From there the Mountaineers would close the game.

West Virginia will hit the road to open Big 12 Conference play against Oklahoma State Dec. 29.
