The West Virginia Mountaineers football program has landed a commitment on the offensive front with a pledge from Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep 2026 offensive lineman Rhett Morris.
Morris, 6-foot-3, 305-pounds, picked the Mountaineers over scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Boston College, Massachusetts, James Madison and Old Dominion among others.
The Rivals.com three-star prospect was initially committed to Wake Forest for a little over a month but then elected to back off that pledge and reopen his recruitment.
That led the new Mountaineers coaching staff welcoming him to campus for a spring visit and then setting up an official visit for this past weekend.
Offensive line coach Jack Bicknell also stopped by to see Morris during the evaluation period and served as the lead recruiter for the Garden State product.
Morris is being targeted as an interior offensive lineman and was actually initially recruited by the former coaching staff before the new group also entered into his recruitment.
Morris becomes the first offensive lineman to commit to West Virginia in the 2026 recruiting class.
WVSports.com will have more with Morris in the near future.
