As the offseason has officially arrived for West Virginia, the coaching rumors have started to swirl regarding head coach Darian DeVries.

According to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68, DeVries' name has been linked to the vacancy at Indiana. Goodman said, "West Virginia's Darian DeVries has emerged as one of - if not the top candidate for the Indiana job."

Goodman says DeVries is one of three guys in the running for the Hoosiers head coaching position, joined by Drake's Ben McCollum and what Goodman calls a "'mystery' candidate."

DeVries was in his first season at WVU this past year, guding the Mountaineers to a 19-13 finish to the season, along with a 10-10 showing in Big 12 Conference play. The Mountaineers were on the cusp of making the NCAA Tournament in DeVries' first season as head coach. Prior to WVU, DeVries was the head coach at Drake for six seasons. There, he went 150-55, guiding the Bulldogs to three NCAA Tournament appearances and two Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championships.

Indiana finished the season also on the outside looking in of the NCAA Tournament as they went 19-13 and 10-10 in Big Ten Conference play. The Hoosiers moved on from Mike Woodson who was in his fourth season at IU.
