West Virginia is in the process of targeting a number of players for the 2025 roster and one of those that is planning a visit to Morgantown is Lafayette College transfer tight end Dallas Holmes.
Holmes, 6-foot-5, 238-pounds, entered the transfer portal on Nov. 26 after earning all-Patriot League honors following a season where he hauled in 12 catches for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Mountaineers have not extended a scholarship offer to Holmes yet but have discussed the possibility of taking an official visit to Morgantown on Jan. 9.
“I have heard that they liked my tape and I want to get me down to West Virginia,” he said.
Tight ends coach Michael Nysewander and Garrett Hirsch have been the primary contact with Holmes and the coaching staff has been impressed with his ability to block as well as his frame.
At this stage, Holmes has collected offers from Western Kentucky, Miami (Oh.), North Texas, and Sacramento State. He also has heard from a number of others including Louisville, Wake Forest, James Madison, Louisiana Tech, Wyoming, and more.
Holmes has two years of eligibility remaining in his career and is looking for a school where he can find the right graduate program as well as where he can be developed to try to get to the next level.
“I want to go somewhere that can maximize my skill set and help develop me for the next level,” he said.
